Sewing, School, and other Stuff

Well we are officially into the Fall Semester! School has been in session for a week now and it almost feels as if we never left! I actually ended up dropping one of my classes to ease up on the work load but I love all the time I have to focus on the classes I DO have! My textiles class is actually pretty intense so far... Who knew how much making fabric was a science?!? Crazy, right? I know... Anyways. I am also taking a children's clothing class and have been enjoying sewing baby clothes! These are just the first two projects we have started with. A baby's cap and matching booties. Next we are working on a sleeper! I am so excited to get to sewing loads and loads! I missed having projects to do!

They look like little duck feet!!!
I also am taking a photography class and I really hope my photo skills are GREATLY improved! I can't wait to learn different post-processing methods and improve the whole composition of my photos!

Steven is still working all the time but it seems to work out ok for us now... He can do homework while I'm at school and I do my homework while he is away at work so we can't distract one another from our work. I have just been trying to look at the positive side of our opposite schedules...

Hope all is well!

Life Together

School started this week for the both of us.  Steven is still working about 40-48 hours per week but he only has 2 classes on campus and one online so he should be able to keep up just fine.  I was originally signed up for 14 credits but after attending the first day at each one I dropped my personal health and fitness class to open up some time to do really well on my other classes that actually contribute to my degree.  I am hoping to really crank out a good GPA this semester to work for a scholarship for my senior year of school.

We are living in a small one bedroom house just barely outside of town.  We love it.  It's nice and quiet all the time which really helps with sleep and studying :) and it's kind of nice to pretend we don't live in a college town from time to time.

It's a modest home but it's perfect for us!  We don't feel crammed in a small apartment and we don't have neighbors attached to us in any way!  Can't beat that for poor married college students!  It's a slightly older home so there are some quirks about it that are kind of silly... (a half sized oven... carpeted door... You get the gist...)  We will probably stay here until we finish school in a few years.

The weather is starting to turn into fall already... It always amazes me how quickly the weather turns here compared to back home.  This week we will hang around in the 60 degree weather as compared to the 80 degree weather that those back home will be enjoying.  Oh well.

Until next time!

More Wedding!

My WONDERFUL photographer (and friend and former roommate), April, has shared more wedding photos and I just had to post them on here too for all to see. She did such a fantastic job I am obsessed with them!! She is so awesome and really captured our personalities and preserved memories from our big day! I can't wait to get prints and plaster these gems around my house!

(if you wanna check out more of her stuff or get in contact with her for a family, couple, individual, or senior photo shoot here's her Facebook page link: April May Photography)

Speedy Weekend Trip

Steven and I made a quick trip to Almo this weekend.  Some of our very best friends moved there while they are waiting to find an internship/job and we took the opportunity to go down and visit them, see their new house, and see our family.  I love little trips to Almo.  It's so calm and quiet there and of course our friends and family are everywhere!!  We went swimming with some of our friends (and have sunburns to show for it) and had a blast!

Steven picked up some extra hours for Labor Day, but he got the night off (the first since... wow... forever ago!) so we are making the best of it and are going out for a date night! We are pumped!  I love getting some quality time in with my man!  Even when it's just dinner and then a quiet evening home.

School is creeping up on us and classes will start 2 weeks from today... It's crazy to think that this summer is almost over... So much has happened and it has been SO great!! I'm kinda sad for it to end but ready to get through this semester (and learn a TON in my textiles and photography classes!!).
