School started this week for the both of us. Steven is still working about 40-48 hours per week but he only has 2 classes on campus and one online so he should be able to keep up just fine. I was originally signed up for 14 credits but after attending the first day at each one I dropped my personal health and fitness class to open up some time to do really well on my other classes that actually contribute to my degree. I am hoping to really crank out a good GPA this semester to work for a scholarship for my senior year of school.
We are living in a small one bedroom house just barely outside of town. We love it. It's nice and quiet all the time which really helps with sleep and studying :) and it's kind of nice to pretend we don't live in a college town from time to time.
It's a modest home but it's perfect for us! We don't feel crammed in a small apartment and we don't have neighbors attached to us in any way! Can't beat that for poor married college students! It's a slightly older home so there are some quirks about it that are kind of silly... (a half sized oven... carpeted door... You get the gist...) We will probably stay here until we finish school in a few years.
The weather is starting to turn into fall already... It always amazes me how quickly the weather turns here compared to back home. This week we will hang around in the 60 degree weather as compared to the 80 degree weather that those back home will be enjoying. Oh well.
Until next time!

Is the carpet on the inside of the door?
ReplyDeleteHaha no... It's on the outside but there is a screen door there so it doesn't get too dirty really but it's kind of tacky and the door doesn't insulate very well at all. We are gonna ask our land lady to replace it before winter hits.
ReplyDeleteI completely missed these recent posts until now! Such a cute little place :) We have yet to experience living in a house. Apartment living is just so much cheaper in this area. It sounds like your life together is off to an exciting start!
ReplyDeleteIt sure is, Tami! We love it! Someday you will move into a house and LOVE it! We really lucked out with this house! The rent here is actually cheaper than most apartments around probably because it isn't so close to BYU-I's campus (and our land lady is a little old lady who has kept her rent fairly low), but the commute (while it really is a very short commute) is totally worth it to not live in an apartment.
